Oh, I Just Can’t Wait for Disney World! Exploring the Art of Animation’s Lion King Resort
|It is time!
Time for a vacation, and the Pride Lands are roaring your name. Located at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, The Lion King suite is sure to pleeease anyone who grew up on the 1994 classic. With enough space to sleep six, it includes three rooms, two bathrooms, two televisions, a microwave, and a refrigerator. To top it off, this mighty little kingdom will make you feel like you’re the main event at Pride Rock, because it’s colored with fun scenery from the movie.
Meet your Favorite Characters from the Pride Lands
As if that’s not exciting enough, statues of many of the story’s characters are placed outside all areas of the property, so make sure you explore to find them all. Characters include Simba, Pumbaa, Timon, Mufasa, Zazu, Scar, Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, and Rafiki (who was mysteriously missing during a visit in November 2017).
Slimy Yet Satisfying
If you’re looking to rustle up some grub, the resort’s cafeteria, the Landscape of Flavors, is a short trot away. Plenty of food options are included for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including pancakes, breakfast wraps, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, salads, soups, and snacks, such as cookies and fruit. Though it’s tasty, be aware (and this may be obvious) that a few days eating here and on most Disney properties can become costly.
Story-telling Artwork
Of course, being the Art of Animation Resort, there has to be artwork! You’ll find it — the lion’s share of it — in the gift shop and in the lobby area of the property. The resort itself is decked out in Lion King personality, and you’ll even be greeted by paintings of various characters as you exit the elevator, depending on which floor you step out on.
Know that The Lion King resort shares the cafeteria, gift shop, lobby, and arcade with neighboring resorts, so you’ll also see artwork from The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, and Cars. It’s pure Disney magic! Although The Lion King resort doesn’t have a pool of its own, the Finding Nemo resort is right next door and offers a large swimming area decked out in Pixar pizazz (including giant statues of Mr. Ray, Crush, and Squirt).
Transportation to Disney Destinations
To make traveling to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and other parks easier, the resort offers transportation to and from the various properties. The mornings seem to bring the most crowds to the bus stations, so sometimes you might have to admire the giant painting of Mufasa and Simba on the building from afar as you wait for your bus.
Pet-friendly
For Disnerds and families alike, what else can make a hotel experience a memorable one? Bringing along your four-legged friend, of course! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort welcomes canine family members to get comfy and experience the magic right there with you for a truly unforgettable experience.
With its bright rooms and charming jungle theme, be prepared to walk on the wild side at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. There’s more to be seen than can ever be seen and more to do than can ever be done.
